In the first half of 2024, NABU and SAPO continued to expose multimillion-dollar schemes and high-level corruption.
The former head of the Committee of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Agricultural and Land Policy and his accomplices were charged with seizing land worth UAH 291 million and attempting to appropriate even more plots worth UAH 190 million.
The former top official of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine, who organized a scheme to misappropriate seized oil products worth UAH 967 million, also came under scrutiny.
Seven individuals were chargedwith embezzling almost UAH 100 million during the war in the procurement of transformers. Another criminal group that misappropriated UAH 160 million in state and international funds allocated for the reconstruction of Kharkiv was exposed.
Detectives and prosecutors also revealed the misappropriation of electricity from NPC Ukrenergo worth UAH 716 million, UAH 211 million losses to Ukrgazvydobuvannia JSC, and a scheme implemented by a criminal organization at the Chernivtsi Customs, which caused UAH 290 million losses to the state.
An MP and an ex-President's Office deputy faced charges for illegal enrichment worth UAH 11 million and UAH 15.7 million, respectively.

The economic effect of NABU and SAPO activities in the first half of 2024 exceeded UAH 3.7 billion.
In particular, in NABU and SAPO cases:
- UAH 3.3+ billion was saved in the procurement of UAVs for the military;
- UAH 83.1 million was directed to army needs;
- UAH 209.3 million was reimbursed to the state;
- UAH 102.3 million was confiscated into state revenue.
